About company

«RusVinyl» LLC is a Russian-Belgian joint venture created for the construction of a 330 thousand t/y Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Integrated Plant near Kstovo in the Nizhniy Novgorod region.

The founders of the joint venture company are «SIBUR», a first-rate petrochemical holding company in Russia, and the Belgian company «SolVin», a leading PVC manufacturer in Europe. «SolVin» is a joint affiliated company of Solvay, an international group of chemical and pharmaceutical companies, and the German concern BASF.

PVC plant will use the cutting-edge European technologies (BAT – Best Available Techniques) that assure the necessary range of PVC with low process costs, and will comply with the most rigorous environmental requirements of the Russian Federation. The plant will produce 300 kilotons of PVC- suspension, 30 kilotons of PVC- emulsion and 235 kilotons of caustic soda. If the current growth rates of PVC consumption across the CIS territory persist, the project’s working capacity is supposed to be extended on the basis of «RusVinyl» LLC

The pre-project documentation for the Integrated Plant construction was prepared in 2007, as well as Environmental Impact Assessment, including assessment through scheduled Public Consultations attended by ecological organizations, the scientific community and local authorities.

The process solutions to be applied in construction and production are currently the safest ones in polymer industry. Over 10% of the overall investment in the new production facilities will be allocated for environmental protective measures.

On the 12th of July 2010 on RusVinyl site the construction of the complex started with the foundation of the First Corner Stone.
